Remco Evenepoel secures second European time trial victory

Remco Evenepoel was crowned European time trial champion for the second time in his career on Wednesday at the European Cycling Championships in Drôme and Ardèche, France.
The Belgian cyclist finished 43 seconds ahead of Italy's Filippo Ganna over the 24-kilometre course between Loriol-sur-Drôme and Étoile-sur-Rhône. Niklas Larsen of Denmark took bronze, 1:08 behind Evenepoel.
Evenepoel first won the title in 2019 in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, at the age of nineteen. Two years later, he won the bronze medal in the time trial at the European Championships in Trento, Italy.
Just a week and a half ago, he clinched his third consecutive world time trial title in Kigali, Rwanda. He succeeded Italian Edoardo Affini, who did not compete.
