Belgium beat France to reach Davis Cup semi-finals

Belgium are through to the Davis Cup semi-finals after a brilliant 2-0 win over France in Bologna. The Belgians won both singles matches, meaning the doubles was no longer needed.
Raphaël Collignon started the day with a hard-fought comeback, beating Corentin Moutet 2-6, 7-5, 7-5. Zizou Bergs then secured the victory by defeating Arthur Rinderknech 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
Belgium will face either Italy or Austria in Friday’s semi-final. Italy will be without stars Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti.
The Red Aces have been on an impressive run. In September, they shocked Australia away from home to reach the final 8, and this is their first time in the last four since 2018. Belgium were Davis Cup runners-up in 2015 and 2017.
This latest win is especially sweet, as France had beaten Belgium in their last four meetings, including the 2017 final.
