Tomorrowland will open as planned with new main stage

After a night of intense work, Tomorrowland will open its doors to all festival-goers at 14:00 on Friday, organisers confirmed. A new main stage has been completed in time following a devastating fire, allowing the festival in Boom to proceed at full capacity.

"We're ready," read the official announcement on Friday afternoon. "Our teams worked day and night, with heart and soul, to make the impossible happen: Tomorrowland Belgium 2025 will open its doors at 14:00."

The new main stage was built after a fire damaged the original and is scheduled to officially open at 16:00, "pending any last-minute changes." In the meantime, performances on all other stages will begin as planned at 14:00.

New stage concept

Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen described the alternative stage as a new and more intimate concept. "It's a 'stage' that has been worked on very hard," she said. "It’s a new concept, with lots of visuals, that will bring the artist very close to the audience." However, fireworks will not be launched from the new stage. It will remain in use for the festival’s second weekend, from 25 to 27 July.

Wilmsen also confirmed that safety checks have been completed. "They are present on site. Everything must remain safe," she said, referring to fire department and police inspections.

On Thursday, organisers had prepared two possible scenarios. One involved proceeding with the festival in full, while the other would have limited Friday’s attendance to those already at the Dreamville campsite. With the new stage completed in time, the first and most favourable scenario is now in effect.

Following the fire, hundreds of crew members worked to dismantle the damaged main stage and build a new one. "It's a race against time," organisers said on Thursday. "But we can do this with the best people in the world."
