New York Liberty officially signs Emma Meesseman

The New York Liberty confirmed on Friday that Emma Meesseman has officially signed up for their championship defence. The Belgian basketball player will make her debut in a game against the Connecticut Sun.
Meesseman's return to the US basketball league, which had been widely reported, has now been officially confirmed. She will play for the New York Liberty for the remainder of the season.
She will make her debut at 19:30 ET on Friday (01:30 CET) in an away game against the Connecticut Sun. The 32-year-old previously played for the Washington Mystics and the Chicago Sky in the WNBA, leading the Mystics to victory in 2019 and being named MVP of the Finals.

Belgium and Turkey
Meesseman will remain with Fenerbahçe in Europe next season for her fourth season with the club. With Fenerbahçe, she has won two EuroLeague titles and three Turkish championships.
At the end of June, Meesseman won a second consecutive European title with the Belgian Cats and was named MVP of the tournament for the second time.
The WNBA regular season runs until 10 September. The New York Liberty currently top the Eastern Conference standings after 26 games, with 17 wins and nine losses.
