More than 41,000 visitors for fantasy fair FACTS in Ghent

On Saturday and Sunday, 41,534 visitors flocked to the FACTS fantasy fair at Flanders Expo in Ghent. Among the main guests at this edition were internationally renowned names such as actors Andrew Scott and Simon Pegg.
Fans of films, series, games and other pop culture gathered this weekend at FACTS in Flanders Expo Ghent. More than 41,000 people, some dressed as their favourite characters, visited the fair. They took part in various activities and shows or bought something at the sales stands. Actors, directors and authors were present. But there were also robot dogs and dancers.
Visitors could spot some famous faces, such as British actor Simon Pegg, who starred in Mission Impossible and Shaun of the Dead. Other main guests were Andrew Scott (Fleabag, Ripley, Sherlock), Mary Mouser and Tanner Buchanan (both from Cobra Kai). Among the big Belgian names were director Jan Verheyen, cartoonist Lectrr and comic strip artist Merho.
“Even after almost 35 years of FACTS, you still look forward eagerly to the creativity that Belgium displays here, both among the visitors and at the various stands,” stated organiser Anthony Audenaerd. “I still get emotional about the togetherness of FACTS. For example, when a child dressed up as a Pokémon gets sparkling eyes at the Nintendo stand. You only see that kind of magic here.”
The FACTS fantasy fair started in 1993 as a small gathering of like-minded people in the Het Tonneke café in Ghent. Since then, the fair has grown into a major event. Tens of thousands of visitors find their way to Flanders Expo twice a year. The next edition will take place on 11 and 12 April 2026 at Flanders Expo in Ghent.
