More than 10,000 people on waiting list for Red Cross Flanders emergency kit

Just one day after Red Cross Flanders launched an emergency kit for crisis situations, about 10,500 people are already on a waiting list to purchase one. The 2,500 kits that were made available sold out within a few hours.

On Thursday, Red Cross Flanders launched a ready-made emergency kit that enables people to survive the first 72 hours on their own in crisis situations. The 2,500 kits that were made available sold out within a few hours. The organisation promised to set up a waiting list for those who are still interested, and by Friday afternoon, 10,500 people were already on this waiting list.

“We will ensure that anyone who wants a high-quality emergency kit can still obtain one through us,” said spokesperson Vincent Verbeecke. “We will make sure that a kit is produced for everyone who signs up for the waiting list. Although this will obviously take a little longer.”
