Flix becomes majority stakeholder in airport shuttle operator Flibco

Long-distance coach and train operator Flix is acquiring a majority stake in Flibco, which operates shuttles to airports including Zaventem and Charleroi.
Flix has not disclosed the cost of the acquisition, but says it will strengthen its position in European passenger transport.
Flibco operates airport shuttles in several countries. It is currently owned by the Luxembourg-based SLG, which will retain a minority stake. Passengers can still book tickets via Flibco and the routes will also be available on the Flix platform.
“Our experience clearly shows that customers are looking for reliable and affordable ways to travel between cities and conveniently reach airports,” said André Schwämmlein, CEO of Flix. “Our investment in Flibco allows us to specifically expand into the airport transfer segment.”
Munich-based Flix was founded in 2013 and provides local and international train and coach services in 40 countries. Its brands include Greyhound in the US. Flibco’s management team and employees will remain in place after the acquisition.
