D66 wins elections in the Netherlands, announces Dutch news agency

According to the Dutch news agency ANP, the centrist-liberal party D66 has won the Dutch parliamentary elections. An analysis by the ANP's election service shows that the party led by Rob Jetten cannot be overtaken in terms of votes by the far-right PVV. The official results will normally be announced on Tuesday.
ANP bases its findings on results from the municipalities. According to its election service, there is a chance that D66 will gain an additional seat and thus become larger than Geert Wilders' party, the PVV.
Officially, D66 still has a lead of just over 15,000 votes over the PVV. Only the results from the municipality of Venray and postal votes from abroad have yet to be announced. The results in Venray, where the count was delayed due to a fire, are expected on Friday.
In Venray, the PVV was larger than D66 in 2023, but among postal voters, D66 received more votes than the PVV. Based on these figures, ANP concludes that D66 has won the elections.
