Bpost has invested heavily this year in expanding its network of parcel lockers. In 2025, the Belgian postal company wants to double the number again.
According to bpost, automatic parcel lockers are "the most environmentally friendly solution for receiving a parcel", while also offering convenience as they are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The number of people who had a parcel delivered to a locker increased by 44 per cent last year, and locker deliveries score best in terms of customer satisfaction, said bpost.
In 2024, the postal service installed 365 additional parcel lockers, a record number, bringing the total to more than 1,260. Next year, the company will shift up a gear: it plans to install more than 1,200 new lockers, almost doubling the number.
"As new parcel machines tend to be larger and more efficient, the number of parcel lockers available will triple from 50,000 'doors' today to 150,000 by the end of 2025," said bpost.
