‘Black’ directors create new Brussels Airlines safety video

Passengers on Brussels Airlines’ long-haul flights will be shown a new in-flight safety video created by the Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Falla.
In the video, passengers are “drawn into a fast-paced heist-inspired universe where every instruction becomes part of the mission”, Brussels Airlines said in a press release. Inspired by films such as Ocean’s Eleven and Mission Impossible, “the video follows a tightly coordinated squad preparing an elaborate plan. Their objective is simple: ensuring every passenger reaches their destination safely”.
During the five-minute clip, standard safety instructions are covered, such as emergency exits, seatbelts, oxygen masks and smoking. It features DJ Dimitri Vegas and actors Claude Musungayi and Cyra Gwynith.
“This video is an homage to a popular Hollywood genre,” say the directors, who came to prominence with the 2015 gang movie Black, set in Brussels. “The cartoon-style animations that are integrated are a nod to the rich Belgian comic-book heritage and are part of our signature style.”
