Antwerp kick off Champions League adventure against Barcelona
Royal Antwerp FC will play their first-ever Champions League match on 19 September. Their opponent will be FC Barcelona, who will welcome the Belgian champions to Spain. UEFA announced the fixtures on Saturday.
Barcelona's Camp Nou is currently closed for long-term renovations, so the match will be played at the smaller Olympic Stadium.
On the second matchday in Group H, Antwerp host Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine on 4 October. FC Porto follow on 25 October. Mark van Bommel's men will travel to Portugal on 7 November. Three weeks later, on 28 November, Antwerp will face Shakhtar Donetsk in Hamburg. The Ukrainians will not be playing at home due to the war.
Antwerp will close the group stage on 13 December at home to Barcelona.
