World Snooker Championship: Luca Brecel's victory voted performance of the year

Luca Brecel's World Snooker Championship victory has been voted Performance of the Year by the World Snooker Tour and Chinese media platforms.
Brecel was crowned World Snooker Champion for the first time at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre on Monday night. The 28-year-old from Limburg beat England's Mark Selby 18-15 in the final.
Brecel is the first player from continental Europe and only the fourth from outside the UK to win the title, after Canadian Cliff Thorburn (1980), Irishman Ken Doherty (1997) and Australian Neil Robertson (2010).
Fellow Belgian Julien Leclercq, 20, was named the best newcomer of the season. Ireland's Mark Allen, who won three tournaments this season, was named WST Player of the Year. The prize for Moment of the Year went to Mark Selby, who became the first man to make a maximum 147 break in the World Championship final.
The breakthrough of the year was awarded to 20-year-old Chinese Si Jiahui, who lost to Brecel in the semi-finals of the World Championship.
