Urban Trail Brussels: Run through the Belgian Royal Palace this Sunday

Brussels will host the Urban Trail on Sunday, a running event which passes by a range of notable buildings in the Belgian capital, including the Royal Palace.

The event kicks off at 09:00 on Sunday at Place de la Monnaie. 4,000 participants are expected to begin the trail, and they can choose a 7 km or 12 km course. Both trails start and finish at Place de la Monnaie.

The passage through the Royal Palace, including the administrative residence and main workshop of King Philippe, and promises to be the highlight of the trail. The Royal Palace will open exclusively for runners on Sunday.

Other key passages include passing through the Comic Book Museum, the balcony of the City Hall, the Printing House at the National Bank and the Cinema Palace.

Runners on the 7 km trail will get the opportunity to explore the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital region. Participants of the 12km race will pass through Parc Egmont as well as the legendary nightclub Fuse in the Marolles.
