University of Antwerp organises winter school with a focus diamonds in South Africa

For the first time, the University of Antwerp has organised a winter school on location in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 5 until 14 February. The lessons will focus on the diamond industry and will be supported by the Belgian diamond sector.

The programme, called From Mine to Finger: a Deep Dive into the World of Diamonds, will provide students with workshops and excursions centred around the diamond business. This is a collaboration between three partners: the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), the University of Antwerp and the renowned Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). ​

Some subjects include innovation, sustainability and transparency, the economic impact of the diamond industry and downstream value addition and beneficiation on the African continent.
