Two people killed in stabbing at residence close to Schiphol Airport
A stabbing at a residence in Hoofddorp, close to Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, has left two people dead. Two police officers were injured and taken to hospital for treatment, police have confirmed.
At around 6.00 on Wednesday morning, police received reports of an argument at a home on Fanny Blankers-Koenlaan. Ten minutes later, officers arrived at the scene where they found two people “involved in a violent incident”. Both people died, police said.
Police fired shots during the incident. Two officers were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
The police are conducting an investigation into the stabbing, while the National Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the use of force by officers.
