Two Flemish universities in top 200 of Times Higher Education World Reputation

KU Leuven and Ghent University have been included in the Times Higher Education World Reputation 2022 rankings, released on Wednesday. This ranking lists the two hundred most prestigious universities in the world according to academics.
Two Belgian universities, namely Flanders' two largest higher education institutions, show up in this year's ranking. Leuven University ranked between 51st and 60th, and its Ghent counterpart between 101 and 125. The top three are no longer all-American. Harvard still holds the top spot for the 12th year in a row, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) ranks second. However, Oxford University (United Kingdom) has ousted Stanford for third place.
For the first time, two Asian institutions are included in the top 10. China's Tsinghua University ranks 9th, and the University of Tokyo, Japan, 10th. China also has nine universities in the top 100.
