Twelve Belgians on their way for first Invictus Games participation

Twelve Belgians are taking part in the fifth Invictus Games, a sports competition for physically and/or mentally wounded servicemen and women taking place in The Hague, the Netherlands. It will be the first time Belgium participates in the competition. The Belgians left on Thursday, says Bernard Bolly, responsible for high-level sports at the Belgian Defence department.
The fifth edition of the Invictus Games will take place from April 16 to 22. The twelve Belgians will take part in competitions in six individual sports and three collective ones, such as rowing, cycling, various athletics disciplines and swimming, says Bolly.
The Belgian team consists of military members who are still in service or have retired. Some of them had an accident at work or on their way to work, while others were victims of off-duty accidents.
