Tickets go on sale for new rail link between Brussels and Paris
The new rail line linking Brussels to Paris in three hours will begin running on 19 December and ticket sales have started, rail operator SNCB has confirmed.
Two-and-a-half years after the discontinuation of the Izy service, launched by Thalys in 2016 and linking Brussels to Paris in 2.5 hours, a new low-cost line between the two capitals will shortly begin.
It will also serve Mons, as well as Aulnoye-Aymeries and Creil in France. The travel time between Brussels-Midi and Paris-Nord will be three hours, with three daily round trips in each direction. The Ouigo line is in addition to the Eurostar high-speed train service, which links the capitals in around 1.5 hours.
Tickets cost from 10 to 59 euros one way, with a fixed price of 8 euros for children under 12.
SNCB introduced daily Eurocity trains between Brussels and Paris with a stop in Mons this summer, during the Olympic Games.
