Thorgan Hazard returns to Belgium on final day of summer transfer window

While the summer transfer window has already closed in most leagues, it doesn't end until midnight on Wednesday in Belgium. The biggest move on the final day is undoubtedly the return of Thorgan Hazard to his homeland.
Hazard left Belgium in 2014 when he joined Borussia Mönchengladbach from Zulte Waregem. He has since played for Borussia Dortmund and PSV Eindhoven. Hazard, who has played 47 times for the Belgian national team, has now signed for RSC Anderlecht, where he will play alongside fellow Red Devil Jan Vertonghen.
The Belgian summer transfer window used to close at the same time as the rest of the world, but that date was pushed back in 2022 as a result of anti-money laundering legislation in Belgian football. Because it takes time to verify each transfer, the Pro League decided to give clubs an extra week to find replacements for outgoing players.
