Thalys rail disruption until 14 November
Thalys' international train traffic is disrupted until 14 November due to equipment problems on the network and works on the tracks. The railway company that connects Brussels and Paris, among others, reported this via its website on Monday. As a result, no trains will run between Brussels and Paris on Friday.
According to the Thalys spokesperson, the operator faces temporary "operational problems" that will lead to the adjustment of its offer until 14 November. However, more than 90 per cent of connections are not affected.
In Belgium, additional disruption is expected mainly between 10 and 13 November due to works on the Belgian railway network. For instance, on Friday, 11 November, a public holiday, no trains will run between Brussels and Paris in both directions. The company further refers to union actions Wednesday in Belgium and Thursday in France.
"Our trains will run as planned, but national traffic and public transport will be disrupted," the website reads. Those needing a connection must make their arrangements in the coming days.
Thalys will indicate which trains do and do not depart in Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam or Cologne. Those wishing to rebook their high-speed train journey or get a refund can contact customer services.
