Technopolis celebrates 25th anniversary with unique ticket hunt

Science museum Technopolis in Mechelen is marking its 25th anniversary by giving away hundreds of free tickets. Over the next few months, tickets will be hidden at 25 museums and attractions across Flanders.
Each month on the 25th, 25 cone-shaped boxes will be placed in participating locations. Anyone who finds one can claim up to five free tickets. The pink cones pay tribute to Technopolis’ distinctive tower along the E19 in Mechelen-Zuid.
“We wanted a fun, playful way to involve all of Flanders in our anniversary,” said spokesperson Ester Blockx. “We came up with the idea to hide tickets in 25 museums and attractions.”

The campaign not only invites more visitors to explore Technopolis’ latest exhibitions but also strengthens ties with cultural institutions across the region. “This initiative expands our reach throughout Flanders, from West Flanders to Limburg,” Blockx said. “It also gives our partners an extra incentive to attract visitors each month.”
Technopolis is collaborating with sector organisation Koepel van Attracties en Musea on the initiative. “Public campaigns like this benefit both the public and participating venues,” said director Bart Vermeulen. “It boosts visibility for attractions and museums while fostering stronger connections within the network.”
