Tadej Pogačar wins Liège-Bastogne-Liège

Tadej Pogačar won the 110th edition of Liège-Bastogne-Liège on Sunday. The 25-year-old Slovenian left everyone in his wake.

Pogacar finished the 254.5km race in Liège 1'38" ahead of Frenchman Romain Bardet. Dutchman Michael van der Poel won the sprint for third place by two minutes.

This is Pogacar's seventh victory of the season, after winning the Strade Bianche, four stages and the overall at the Tour of Catalonia, with only 10 days of racing behind him.

In Liège, Pogacar replaces Belgium's Remco Evenepoel on the list of winners. He himself has already won the race once, in 2021. With the Tour of Flanders in 2023 and the Tour of Lombardy on three occasions, he now has six monuments on his record.
