Strike causes delays at Brussels Airport

A spontaneous strike by baggage handler Aviapartner caused delays at Brussels Airport on Monday morning.

The strike began between 3.30am and 4.00am, disrupting check-in and boarding operations. Around 15 flights were affected, with delays of between one and three hours. Long queues also formed at check-in desks.

Only flights handled by Aviapartner have been impacted. Services operated by Alyzia, the airport’s other ground handling company, are running as normal.

Airlines that use Aviapartner include TUI fly, Ryanair, Iberia and British Airways. Brussels Airlines is not affected because its flights are handled by Alyzia.

Brussels Airport has advised passengers to check the status of their flight on the airport’s website or with their airline and to arrive at the airport on time.
