Street arts festival The Crystal Ship kicks off

The seventh edition of the annual arts festival The Crystal Ship has officially kicked off. Twelve international artists have once again created striking murals at various locations in Ostend. With a trajectory of more than 60 major and more than 100 smaller murals The Crystal Ship is the largest free arts festival in its genre.
Since the start of the street art festival in 2016, hundreds of thousands of visitors have followed the walking and cycling routes of The Crystal Ship. The past three years, the festival had to be cancelled because of Covid.
During the first week of the Easter vacations many renowned street artists settled in Ostend. With artists from Portugal, Poland, Argentina, Brazil, the United States and the United Kingdom, the international character of The Crystal Ship is beyond dispute. Among them Basque artist Iñigo Sesma, who is known for his cinematic style and the Lithuanian street artist Egle Zvirblyte. The only Belgian at this seventh edition is Adele Renault from Liège, who is primarily inspired by nature.
The Israeli collective Broken Fingaz has painted an image of a crashed peace dove. Broken Fingaz will also be selling prints with the same peace message. The proceeds will go entirely to the victims of the war in Ukraine.
