Stellantis recalls thousands of cars in Belgium to garages to prevent fire risk

Car manufacturer Stellantis is recalling 18,500 cars of various brands in Belgium to garages due to a problem that could cause a fire in the worst-case scenario. The problem can be fixed within half an hour, according to Stellantis.
The problem affects cars from the Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Fiat brands. Loose nuts could cause fuel to leak into a high-pressure pipe. This could lead to higher fuel consumption and, in the worst case, cause a fire.
The recall is a precautionary measure, according to Stellantis. The company says that no incidents have been reported. Normally, the service light would come on when there is a problem.
According to Stellantis, all affected owners have now received a letter. The problem can be fixed within half an hour by tightening the nut connections, stated the car manufacturer.
In July, it was announced that Stellantis had to recall approximately 117,000 diesel cars in Belgium due to potential engine problems. Prior to that, thousands of vehicles had to be returned to the garage due to possible issues with Takata airbags.
