In Belgium, different museums in amongst others Antwerp, Brussels and Hasselt are participating.

The American Phil Terry launched Slow Art Day in 2010. According to research, a museum visitor spends an average of around 30 seconds looking at a work of art. On Slow Art Day, museums, churches and cultural institutions worldwide invite everyone to take their time, view art more slowly and thus discover more.

“The day ties in with the broader ‘slow movement’, which emerged in the 1980s as a reaction to an increasingly fast-paced, consumer-oriented society,” explained Faro, the Flemish support centre for cultural heritage, in a press release.

This year, more than a hundred venues worldwide are taking part: museums, art galleries, studios and other cultural spaces.
<div id=\"bookmark-dad13b09-f380-4389-8587-7b177196f6b3\"\n class=\"release-content-bookmark release-content-bookmark--horizontal\">\n\n <a class=\"release-content-bookmark__thumbnail\"\n href=\"https://www.belganewsagency.eu/kmska-museum-brings-ensor-and-wouters-together-to-explore-colour-as-sensory-experience\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\" style=\"background-image: url(https://prezly.imgix.net/https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.uc.assets.prezly.com%2F5e12fb47-2ca5-42ac-9fb1-01f5f1d0a9c0%2F-%2Fpreview%2F600x600%2F?ar=1%3A1&fit=crop&s=bc282e4f3e414879b26212805a5d2640)\"\n >\n \n
\n\n <a class=\"release-content-bookmark__title\"\n href=\"https://www.belganewsagency.eu/kmska-museum-brings-ensor-and-wouters-together-to-explore-colour-as-sensory-experience\"\n rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\n target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"bookmark\"\n data-track=\"Story WebBookmark Click\"\n data-placement=\"content\"\n data-id=\"dad13b09-f380-4389-8587-7b177196f6b3\"\n >\n KMSKA brings Ensor and Wouters together to explore colour as sensory experience \n \n
\n The exhibition A Red that Sings opens on Saturday at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA).
