Second suspect in Zeebrugge murder also extradited to Belgium

The second suspect in the murder of a 56-year-old man in Zeebrugge has been extradited to Belgium. The 33-year-old Russian was transferred on Tuesday and will appear before the investigating judge in Bruges, the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office, Bruges division, announced on Wednesday.
The two men became involved in a violent clash with the victim last month. The 56-year-old was punched and kicked and later died of his injuries. Both suspects fled the scene but were apprehended in Poland a few days later following a search notice and international cooperation.
The first suspect, a 45-year-old Russian, had already been transferred to Belgium, questioned, and brought before the investigating judge in Bruges. He was arrested on suspicion of murder, and on Tuesday, his detention was extended by one month.
With the second suspect now in Belgium, he too will be questioned and brought before the investigating judge in Bruges.
