Search under way for two suspects after killing in Zeebrugge

Police investigating the killing of a man in Zeebrugge on Friday night have received more than 70 tips from the public following an appeal, but no suspects have yet been arrested.
Local police in Bruges received a report at around 22.00 on Friday of an incident in Mercatorstraat in Zeebrugge. A 56-year-old man was severely beaten and kicked by two other men. A witness attempted to resuscitate the victim, identified as Herwin A, and the emergency services attended, but he died of his injuries.
According to several witnesses, there had been an argument in a night shop. A short time later, the suspects reportedly attacked the victim in the street before fleeing the scene. The exact circumstances remain unclear.
At the request of the Bruges investigating judge, the federal police issued a wanted notice on Sunday. The suspects are clearly recognisable on CCTV footage from the night shop.
One is a bald, stocky man with a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. The other has short, dark hair and a beard. Police believe they may be lorry drivers from Eastern Europe.
The wanted notice has so far yielded more than 70 tips. In addition, an investigation was carried out on Sunday at several car parks where foreign truckers regularly stop. The camera footage is also being further analysed and the wanted notice has been distributed via Europol, but the suspects remain at large.
