Salmonella in Belgian Ferrero factory: 134 confirmed cases, products recalled in Australia

Since Thursday, a total of 134 cases of salmonella contamination have been identified which are probably or definitely linked to the Ferrero factory in the Belgian town of Arlon, De Standaard writes. The infections were detected in seven European countries and the United Kingdom. In 105 cases the link with the Arlon factory is certain, for all 26 Belgian cases this link has yet to be confirmed.

The salmonella problem was identified on Tuesday. Belgian food agency FASFC strongly urged people not to consume four Ferrero chocolate products. On Thursday, the Italian chocolate brand announced that it is also recalling numerous Kinder products in Australia, in addition to recalling products in several European countries.
