Refugee Ukrainian curator guest lecturing at Brussels university today

Ukrainian curator and writer Tatiana Kochubinska will give a guest lecture at the Free University of Brussels (Vrije Universiteit Brussel, VUB) today, somewhat unexpectedly. Alongside Anna Smolak from Poland, she will give a guest lecture in the Art Science and Aesthetics class at VUB.
Initially, Kochubinska intended to give her guest lecture “Countdown. On contemporary art in Ukraine, 1990s-2020s” via livestream, but a few days ago she found herself forced to flee her country after all. Consequently, she will now be present in person at the Brussels university.
Tatiana Kochubinska is an independent curator who specialises in contemporary Ukrainian art. She led the research platform of the PinchukArtCentre from 2016 to 2019 and co-edited several leading publications on Ukrainian contemporary art.
Kochubinska’s guest lecture will take place on Wednesday afternoon from 5 to 7 pm at the VUB campus in Etterbeek and will be open to anyone who is interested, from both inside and outside the university. She will be supported by Anna Smolak, a Polish curator currently residing in Brussels, who focuses on post-Soviet art in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc.
