Queen Mathilde of Belgium tests positive for COVID-19

Queen Mathilde of Belgium has tested positive for COVID-19. "The Queen feels fine and is following the recommendations of her doctor," stated the Belgian Royal Palace on Wednesday.

Due to the infection, the 49-year-old Queen has to postpone her public activities this week. She was supposed to present the first Baillet Latour Biomedical Award on Thursday at the Brussels Palace of the Academies.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde had to go into quarantine once before. In September of 2021, one of the royal couple's youngest children tested positive for COVID-19.
