Crown Princess Elisabeth cleared to continue studies at Harvard

Crown Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant, has received her student visa and will return to Harvard University in September to pursue the second year of her Master’s degree in Public Policy, Lesoir reports.
Her future at the American university had been uncertain after president Donald Trump’s administration announced in May that Harvard could no longer enrol foreign students. The move was part of Trump’s wider campaign against elite universities, which he accuses of being too left-leaning and of failing to protect Jewish students during protests over the war in Gaza.
The ban initially put around 6,700 foreign students at risk. Harvard quickly challenged the measure in court. In the meantime, student visas, including those for Belgian nationals, have been renewed, allowing classes to go ahead as planned.
For now, Belgium’s future queen can continue her studies without disruption.
