Police intervention in Brussels Ibis hotel has ended, one suspect arrested

One suspect has been arrested during the police intervention in the Ibis hotel in the centre of Brussels on Wednesday, the Brussels public prosecutor's office reports. The 31-year-old man has been taken in for questioning. According to the newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, the man is no stranger to the justice system. The public prosecutor is not disclosing any details about the suspect.
"The police intervened at the Ibis hotel on Wednesday for what ultimately turned out to be a false bomb threat," said public prosecutor Martin François. "The suspect was deprived of his liberty and is currently being questioned. He was not armed."
Sources close to the investigation describe the whole incident as "a storm in a teacup".
