Parties violate ceasefires in the Middle East

An oil tanker has been hit by an unidentified projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. This is reported by the British maritime agency UKMTO on its website. According to the British maritime safety company Vanguard Tech, the vessel involved is the Kiku, which sails under the Panamanian flag. Earlier, there were attacks by Iran and the US. Israël attacked Hezbollah in the south of Lebanon.

"The tanker's captain has reported that the ship was hit by an unidentified projectile," it states. "The ship sustained damage to the bridge; all crew members are reportedly safe. There are currently no reports of environmental damage."

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced via state media on Saturday morning that it had retaliated following American attacks, which Washington claims are a response to the Iranian drone attack on the M/V Ever Lovely. According to the US, that tanker, which sails under the Singapore flag, was fired upon by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday. The UKMTO reported on Thursday that a cargo ship was damaged by a projectile.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army carried out an airstrike on suspected Hezbollah fighters in the Nabatih region in southern Lebanon on Saturday. It is the first attack of this type since Israel, Lebanon, and the United States signed a framework agreement in Washington on Friday. An Israeli army spokeswoman told AFP that the attack targeted "suspected terrorists who posed a threat to the Israeli soldiers in the Nabatih region."

Israel, Lebanon, and the United States signed a new framework agreement in Washington on Friday, which is intended to pave the way for "lasting peace and security."
