Paralympics: Carabin and Genyn bring Belgium's medal tally to 12
Maxime Carabin and Peter Genyn each won a second medal at the Paralympic Games in Paris on Friday, taking Belgium's tally to 12. Carabin won gold in the 100 metres in the T52 category and Genyn took silver in the 100 metres in the T51 category.
Carabin added a second Paralympic title to his record on Friday, having won the 400 metres a week earlier. It was the 47-year-old's sixth medal in five Paralympic appearances. Genyn was beaten only by Canadian Cody Fournie in the 100 metres. On Tuesday, he won a bronze medal in the 200 metres.
Belgium also finished seventh in the team dressage on Friday. On Saturday, eight Belgians will be competing in four disciplines in Paris. The most likely medallists are dressage rider Michèle George in the freestyle and cyclist Tim Celen in the road race.
