New Flemish FTI technology festival spread across eight cities this autumn

This autumn, a new edition of the Flanders Technology and Innovation (FTI) festival will take place in Flanders. The new FTI festival will run from 16 October to 15 November and will be spread across eight cities, namely Antwerp, Brussels, Genk, Ghent, Hasselt, Kortrijk, Leuven and Mechelen.
Last year, the Flemish government decided to organise FTI festivals in 2026, 2028 and 2030 with the aim of positioning Flanders as an “ambitious top region for entrepreneurship and innovation”.
Flanders Technology and Innovation was the project of former Flemish minister president Jan Jambon. With FTI – the spiritual successor to Flanders Technology, the technology fairs of the 1980s – he wanted to make Flanders a model region in the field of technology and innovation.
For the new edition of the FTI festival, eight locations have been chosen where events focusing on technology and innovation will be organised for more than a month, specifically between mid-October and mid-November. In total, there will be more than 100 events.
“Our research centres, knowledge institutions, spearhead clusters, ecosystems and companies – all of which are among the best in the world – will showcase the best that Flanders has to offer in terms of technology and innovation,” stated current Flemish minister president Matthias Diependaele in a message on social media.
