Museum pass reaches 1 million milestone

One million passes have been bought since the museumPASSmusées initiative was launched in 2018, according to the organisers. Participating museums have received more than 30 million euros from the organisers for visits by pass holders.
There are currently 235,000 active pass holders, who together visited museums more than 1.3 million times in 2025. A museum pass costs 64.95 euros a year and gives admission to 270 Belgian museums.
For each visit made by a pass holder, museumPASSmusées pays a fee to the museum. This systematic reimbursement has generated 30 million euros for the museum sector in six years, to spend on operations, programming and staff. MuseumPASSmusées does not receive any subsidies itself and is dependent on the sale of passes.
New addition to the roster in 2026 include the new BRUSK art gallery in Bruges, the Roger Raveel Museum in Zulte, the renovated Design Museum Gent and Kanal - Centre Pompidou in Brussels, which are opening or reopening during the year.
