Man shot dead in Ixelles break-in

One person has been killed during a break-in at a house in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles. Two other people were injured, the Brussels public prosecutor’s office confirmed. 

According to the prosecutor’s office, one or more armed suspects entered the house on Rue Gachard on Thursday morning and fired shots. A man in his 60s was shot dead and a woman and a man were wounded. “Both victims were taken to hospital. Their lives are no longer considered in danger,” the prosecutor’s office said. 

The perpetrators are being sought and the motive is not yet known. The Federal Judicial Police laboratory and a law doctor have been requisitioned.
