Lotus Bakeries and Euronav enter Bel20

Biscuit maker Lotus Bakeries and shipping company Euronav will join the Bel20 index, stock exchange operator Euronext announced on Wednesday. They will replace telecoms operator Proximus and stainless steel producer Aperam.

The Bel-20 is the Brussels Stock Exchange's index of the 20 most important listed companies in Belgium, and Euronext reviews its composition annually. A year ago, Colruyt and VGP were replaced by Barco and Melexis.

Proximus and Aperam join the BEL MID index, the basket of medium-sized listed companies in Belgium. With Proximus, the last telecoms company disappears from the Bel20, after Telenet was removed in 2022.

The changes will take effect after the closing bell on Friday 15 March, making Monday 18 March the first trading day with the new Bel20 composition.
