KAA Gent and Club Brugge demolish opponents in Conference League

KAA Gent and Club Brugge demolished their opponents on the fifth match day in the Conference League. KAA Gent beat Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk 4-1, while Club Brugge defeated Besiktas 5-0 in Istanbul.
Gent's victory means that the Flemish side will continue to play in Europe next year. They will face Tel Aviv on 14 December to fight for the top spot in their group, which would see them skip the round of 16 and go straight to the quarter-finals.
Club Brugge had already secured a place in the knockout phase before today, but they too are not yet certain of topping their group. They will face Bodø/Glimt on 14 December to decide who will finish in first place. With a three-point advantage, the club from Bruges are the clear favourites.
At 21:00, two more Belgian teams kick off in Europe. Union Saint-Gilloise fight for survival against Toulouse in the Europa League, while Racing Genk must beat Fiorentina in the Conference League to keep their knockout hopes alive.
