Israel attacks weapons factories and uranium centrifuge production site in Iran

The Israeli army says it carried out attacks on a site for the production of uranium centrifuges and weapons factories in Iran on Wednesday. The two countries have been bombarding each other for six days.
The attacks by more than 50 aircraft targeted a centrifuge production facility in Tehran and several weapons factories, including facilities for the production of raw materials and components for the assembly of ground-to-ground missiles, the army reported in a statement.
Meanwhile, the first flight repatriating Israeli people stranded abroad due to the cancellation of flights after hostilities broke out on Friday landed on Wednesday near Tel Aviv, airport authorities announced.
Stranded abroad
Israel is preparing an air and sea bridge to bring back its citizens stranded abroad since the closure of its airspace. Authorities have advised citizens not to attempt to return by road via Egypt or Jordan, as this presents what they consider to be a high level of threat.
The Belgian ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked its nationals in Israel, Palestine, Iran, Lebanon and Jordan to register their presence online or report to the local Belgian embassy.
Unlike some other countries, Belgium has not yet begun evacuating its nationals from Israel and Iran. Evacuation flights have been organised by Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland, and Ukraine has urged its citizens to leave both countries as soon as possible.
Israel launched an attack on Iran on 13 June with the stated aim of preventing the country from acquiring nuclear weapons, a goal that Iran has always denied pursuing.
Israeli bombing has killed at least 224 people and wounded more than 1,000, according to the latest official Iranian toll released on Sunday. Iranian missile strikes in retaliation have killed 24 people since Friday, according to the Israeli prime minister’s office.
