Genk hosts arts festival Any Way the Wind Blows
Cultural site C-mine in Genk is hosting a new arts festival this summer. Any Way the Wind Blows will showcase a range of installations and artworks related to the wind.
The festival takes place from Saturday until 15 September. More than 40 national and international artists, designers and architects will exhibit their works during the largest ever group exhibition at the site.
The works on display range from artist-designed bouncy castles to a giant wind machine that mimics the most famous wind currents. Artists include Cyril Lancelin, Kamiel de Waal, Haseeb Ahmed, Loulou João and 019. Kurt Perschke's world-famous RedBall Project, the world’s longest-running street art project, will also come to Genk. The giant red inflatable ball will pop up in various places around the city.
The theme of wind and air was chosen because it is an all-encompassing and recognisable theme and offers endless possibilities for artists.
