Four injured in shooting in Brussels

Four people were injured in a shooting on Boulevard du Midi in Brussels on Tuesday night. Two of the victims were taken to hospital in critical condition.

The shooting occurred shortly before midnight, said Ilse Van de Keere, spokesperson for the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone, on Wednesday morning. 

Several patrols were quickly dispatched to the scene, where the police set up three security perimeters. “The public prosecutor's office was notified and several suspects were arrested,” said Van de Keere.

According to Walter Derieuw, spokesperson for the Brussels fire brigade, two mobile emergency response teams ​ and three ambulances were sent to treat the victims.
