Food Safety Agency suspends Belgian Ferrero company and recalls fabricated Kinder products
Chocolate manufacturer Ferrero has been ordered to stop production at the factory located in Arlon, Belgium and to recall Kinder products after worldwide outbreaks of food poisoning. This was decided on Friday by the Federal Food Agency after thorough investigation into the salmonella contamination.

Several salmonella cases have been reported in and outside of Europe for several weeks. Today the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain decided to withdrew the authorization of Ferrero's production site in Arlon in the absence of complete information provided to by Ferrero. The company will only be allowed to reopen if Ferrero can provide the necessary guarantees that it complies with the rules and regulations for food safety.
At the same time, all products of the Kinder range that were produced at Ferrero Arlon are being recalled. This recall includes 'Kinder Surprise', 'Kinder Surprise Maxi', 'Kinder Mini Eggs' & ‘Schoko-Bons’ regardless of lot number or expiration date.
