The organisers are switching to reusable alternatives to reduce the amount of waste on the campsite.</strong></p><p>Paradise City takes place annually in the gardens of Ribaucourt Castle in Steenokkerzeel, Flemish Brabant province. Following the 2024 edition, which left behind a significant amount of waste due to bad weather and a growing number of visitors, a solution became imperative. &ldquo; That was a real wake-up call for us,&rdquo; stated organiser Gilles De Decker. &ldquo; We have been investing in sustainability for years, but the campsite remained a difficult issue. We can only resolve this by involving our visitors in the process.&rdquo;</p><div class=\"release-content-embed release-content-embed--rich release-content-embed--contained\" id=\"embed-89a997c2-1af6-4320-9d1c-215f4e7113be\"><div style=\"max-width: 660px;\"><div style=\"left: 0; width: 100%; height: 0; position: relative; padding-bottom: 63%; padding-top: 284px;\"><iframe data-iframely-url=\"https://cdn.iframe.ly/api/iframe?app=1&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.instagram.com%2Fp%2FC9Cw_RJtBeg%2F%3Futm_source%3Dig_web_copy_link%26igsh%3DNTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D%23_cb1775650426&key=8fe6cdec03482ac31f27a6ae8ea2fb3f\" style=\"top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;\" allowfullscreen></iframe></div></div><script async src=\"https://cdn.iframe.ly/embed.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"></script></div><p>That is why the festival, in collaboration with KBC Bank, is introducing an alternative system. From now on, visitors will be able to use reusable party tents available on site. These are offered free of charge, subject to a 100 euros deposit which is fully refunded upon correct return. The tents are designed to last for several festival editions, which should significantly reduce the waste stream.</p><blockquote>&quot;We want to move towards a campsite where reuse is the norm, not just by banning items, but also by offering better alternatives&quot;</blockquote><p>According to the organisers, this is the first large-scale test case worldwide in which disposable tents are being replaced by a circular system. During this initial phase, capacity will remain limited so that the project can be evaluated.</p><p>The measure is part of a broader plan to reduce the campsite&rsquo;s environmental impact. &ldquo; This is not a one-off initiative,&rdquo; underlined De Decker. &ldquo; We want to move towards a campsite where reuse is the norm, not just by banning items, but also by offering better alternatives.&rdquo;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>#FlandersNewsService | Illustration &copy; BELGA PHOTO TOM GOYVAERTS</p><p>&nbsp;</p>",
