Flemish Minister in Silicon Valley to promote the Flemish games sector

Flemish Minister of Media Benjamin Dalle is paying a working visit to the game industry in California's Silicon Valley this week. He will promote the Flemish games sector there, as well as the support provided by the Flemish government.

During his visit to the heart of the U.S. technology sector, Dalle hopes to open new doors for Flemish game developers and gaming companies and attract new foreign investment. He will also discuss the opportunities and threats of new media with media companies.

"The Flemish games sector is booming. There are many success stories of Flemish game studios. Moreover, talented developers from Flanders play an important role in numerous renowned international companies," said Minister Dalle.

On Wednesday, the minister will attend the annual Game Developers Conference (GDC). There he will lead a delegation including FLEGA (Flemish Games Association), FIT (Flanders Investment & Trade), the VAF (Flemish Audiovisual Fund), the Flanders Game Hub and some 25 Flemish and Brussels game companies.

"We support the local game industry on several fronts, with our vision note 'Level Up Flanders'. The visit to GDC23 and the various company visits have a common goal: to play up the Flemish strengths and underline why investments in the Flemish games sector are so valuable."
