First Belgian Darts Gala brings darts superstars to Flanders

Six superstars in the world of darts are coming to Hasselt for the first edition of the Belgian Darts Gala. Belgians Dimitri Van den Bergh, ranked 10th in the world, and Kim Huybrechts, ranked 29th, will compete in a pro tournament against several international stars on 12 October.

English world champion Michael Smith will attend, as will the Dutch three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen. Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode and England's Fallon Sherrock, the most famous female darts player, complete the field.

Huybrechts says he is looking forward to the event. "It is something different for a change and for the Belgian darts audience it will undoubtedly be a great night," he said. "For me though, it remains a competition I want to win."
