Femur found on Dutch beach belongs to missing Belgian man

A femur found on a beach in the Netherlands in April belongs to a Belgian man who has been missing for seven years, the Dutch police announced on Tuesday.
The bone was discovered by a doctor who was walking on the beach at Schoorl in the north-west of the country. The police took the remains away for DNA analysis.
By comparing the DNA profile with material from Interpol's international database, they established that the bone belonged to the missing Belgian man, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed.
The remains have since been transported by a funeral home to the home of the man's relatives. The police are not commenting on the case due to the suspicious nature of the death.
