Federal prosecutor transfers file on Israeli soldiers arrested at Tomorrowland to ICC

The federal prosecutor's office is transferring the case concerning two Israeli soldiers arrested at Tomorrowland to the International Criminal Court (ICC), it announced on Wednesday.
"The International Criminal Court is currently conducting an investigation into possible serious violations of humanitarian law in the Palestinian territories," the office said.
The prosecutor's office had received a complaint from the Hind Rajab Foundation, founded by Dyab Abou Jahjah, and the NGO Global Legal Action Network, regarding the presence of two alleged Israeli war criminals at the music festival on the weekend of 19 and 20 July.
The two men were reportedly members of the Israeli army’s Givati Brigade and had waved the brigade's combat flag during the event.
The federal prosecutor instructed police to locate and question the two soldiers. Following their interrogation, the individuals were allowed to retain the files concerning their case.
"After analysing the complaints, the federal prosecutor's office decided to transfer the files to the International Criminal Court," the office confirmed. "This decision was taken in the interest of the sound administration of justice and in compliance with Belgium's international obligations, as provided for in Article 14/10 of the preceding title of the Code of Criminal Procedure."
The transfer of the files will be managed by the Federal Public Service Justice, the central body authorised to forward requests from Belgian judicial authorities to the ICC.
