Exhibition brings Salvador Dalí's surrealist world to life with immersive art in Bruges

A new exhibition at Oud Sint-Jan in Bruges brings the surreal world of Salvador Dalí to life through cutting-edge digital technology. Dalí Cybernetics invites visitors into an immersive journey through the iconic artist’s imagination, using 360-degree projections, interactive installations and a metaverse experience.
The exhibition aims to make Dalí's surrealism accessible and engaging to a broad audience by transforming traditional art appreciation into a multisensory experience.
Visitors can explore a series of rooms where Dalí's distinctive imagery is projected onto walls, floors and ceilings, accompanied by atmospheric soundscapes and dynamic visuals. In the immersive room, artworks appear to move and evolve, creating a feeling of stepping directly into the painter’s dreamlike universe.
Dalí's art is no stranger to Bruges: the Museum-Gallery Xpo in the Belfry houses a permanent exhibition featuring a fantastic collection of his world-famous graphics and statues. Dalí Cybernetics builds on that local connection, offering a new digital dimension.
Participation is encouraged throughout the space. A sketch-and-post area invites visitors to respond creatively, while an interactive floor reacts to movement. One of the exhibition’s highlights is the metaverse zone, where virtual reality headsets and controllers allow guests to navigate a digital environment shaped by Dalí’s artistic vision.
Site Oud Sint-Jan has invested 750,000 euros in the experience, as it shift towards more immersive and digital art formats designed to captivate contemporary audiences.
